| Abstract: | As the persistence of wind direction is a quantity which is often stored in meteorological datasets, it is quite appealing to search for a parametrization of the standard deviation of wind direction in terms of persistence. Five such parametrization schemes are presented here and compared to each other as well as to results from field data. Furthermore, the influence of introducing a lower threshold value for the wind speed in handling the raw data is analysed. |
