Abstract: | A qualitative analysis of a system of autonomous differential equations modelling an ecosystem microcosm is carried out from the point of view of persistence. Necessary and sufficient conditions are given that no trajectory with positive initial conditions has a component that tends to zero asymptotically or reaches zero in finite time. The results are stated in terms of threshold levels for the input nutrient parameter in the system. |
