Abstract:Drought is the major issue. China is confronted with in terms of water resources. In many regions, it has become an important restraint to local economic development and social progress. The paper analyses the status and trend of drought in China, investigates the research direction and possible approaches to reducing drought disaster, and proposes that water saving measures should be taken and plans for management of water resources should be made according to the actual conditions of China, so as to reduce the loss and impacts from drought.
