| Abstract: | It is shown the 4-bromobiphenyl in soil can be decomposed quickly and almost quantitatively to organic fragments free of bromine, in a specially designed bomb in the presence of a reagent such as cuprous oxide and aqueous alkali, by using microwave energy. |
