Abstract:Analyses were carried out to test biomass and soil samples in and outside sheep pasturing herb pens,on the normal and degraded grassfarms. The result shows that the amount of biomass at test sites ranges in such an ouder:in herb pens >outside herb pens > in degraded herb pens > outside degraded herb pens. The amount of nitrogin,humic substance,humic acid,and fulvic acid in the soils increases with increasing biomass,also following the above mentioned order. The content of humic acid and its functional groups in herb pen soils increases significantly and hence the pen soil is better in quality.
