Abstract: | The Food and Agriculture Organization's (FAO) land evaluation methodology provides a procedure for assessing the suitability of land units within a study area for different land uses. This article describes the use of theLuplan computerized land-use planning package to provide an explicit means to select the land use for each land unit which best satisfies defined policies. The use of the package is demonstrated in a study that allocated multiple use activities within a native forest. |
