The Role of New Chemical Substance Notification on Chemical Environmental Management

Through analyzing the characteristics of the contents for the notification and the procedure of examining and approving the new chemical substances,the positive effects and the important role of the notification system have been reviewed.The implementation of the new chemical substance notification can control and prevent the pollution to the environment and the harm to the human beings from the headstream of the substances,and is an important milestone of environmental management from passive to active.This system can help to exchange the information among managers,producers/importers and users for the new chemical substances to effectively prevent the pollution and the harm,and also to promote the establishment of the technical support system.In addition,the present status of implementation of the new chemical substance notification and its effects on chemical environmental management in China is given briefly.
