Abstract:Flows of particulate carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, chlorophyll a, crude fiber, carbohydrate, and adenosine tri-phosphate; and of dissolved nitrogen and phosphorus between a marsh and the Patuxent estuary, Maryland, USA, were measured over a 2-year period. Virtually no carbon was exchanged, while net flows of nitrogen and phosphorus were from the marsh to the estuary, principally in dissolved forms.Contribution No. 664, Center for Environmental and Estuarine Studies, University of Maryland.
