Thiotepa - a potential chemosterilant for spotted boll worm Eariasfabia Stoll (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) III — Effect on eggs

Thiotepa induced inhibition of nucleic acids, protein and free amino acids during early embryogenesis of $\text{E}$. $\text{fabia}$ is reported. Same level of inhibition was found in DNA, RNA and protein in different crosses. In T♂ X T♀ there was significant weight loss of the eggs also. The inhibition and weight loss has been attributed to the mitotic failure of the developing embryos due to genetic imbalance.
