After a short introduction of the main theories of aging the physiological and pathological alterations of such organs are described which influence absorption, distribution, metabolism and elimination of drugs. In addition the importance of the transport systems (proteins, red cells) is pointed out. Finally some short remarks on the so-called “geriatrika”.
