Brief Discussion on the Methods to Determine Safe Distance for Petrochemical Enterprises

The development and application, the analyzing process, the key elements and the strengths and weaknesses for the methods to determine safety distance were discussed, these methods may include expert judgments method, certainty analysis method, risk-based method and risk-informed method. It was proposed to pay more attention to certainty analysis method and risk-based method. For the certainty analysis method, it was suggested to strengthen the research on credibility accident scenarios and injury criteria of petrochemical enterprises. For the risk-based method, it was proposed to enhance the study on risk-informed method and establish reasonable petrochemical enterprise risk standards, so as to take a more scientific and rational approach to make sure the safe distance for petrochemical enterprises.
