Abstract:In order to reduce the concentration of organic matter in pre-coagulated leachate membrane concentrate from a municipal solid waste incineration plant,electrochemical oxidation was used to treat the effluent from the concentrated leachate membrane.At the same time,the effects of anode material,current density,initial pH and electrolysis time on organic matter removal were investigated.The removal characteristics of organic matter were analyzed by 3D-EEM spectrum,and the degradation mechanism of organic matter was discussed through the conversion of chloride ions.Results showed that Ru-Ir/Ti was the most efficient anode for degrading organic matter,the removal of TOC and CN were 41.33%and 98.69%when the current density was 40 mA/cm2,initial pH was 7,and electrolysis time was 60 min.Spectrum analysis indicated that the electrochemical oxidation process could effectively convert fulvic-like and humic-like substances to small molecules.The electrochemical oxidation process mainly degrades organic matter efficiently through the oxidation of the free chlorine(Cl2,HClO,and ClO-)produced by the electrolysis process,but too much free chlorine has limited effect on the improvement of TOC removal.This study can provide a valuable reference for the electrochemical oxidation treatment of concentrated leachate membrane or high salinity organic wastewater.
