| Abstract: | Environmental 137Cs concentrations in tree rings grown since 1914 and 1929 were measured and compared with the record of 137Cs deposition from weapons fallout. 137Cs was found in tree rings formed prior to 1945 when the first nuclear weapon test was conducted. The radiocesium record in wood is not correlated with that of fallout deposition. |
