Treatment and Character of Refuse Leachate in France

In France, the rate of treating urban refuse with landfill and incineration is about 80%. A certain amount of leachate will produce during short store in landfill before incineration. The character of leachate will change depends on the character of refuse, duration of storage and weather etc. This paper presented the character of leachate, parameters and some examples of leachate treatment, and also showed some advantages and disadvantages of different treating methods.
