The hot points and trends of research on the earth science according to the scientific programs in the 31th IGC

Authors discuss the general and special symposiums in the 31th IGC, count the number of the papers and abstracts received in the congress , and arrange the order of the various symposiums based on the researching subjects . The major subjects and number of general symposiums and special symposiums may be listed respectively at the first twelve and five . The hot points and trends of research on international earth science may be understood approximatively by the comparison with the scientific programs in the 30 th IGC. According to the above analysis authors give some thought to the geology and sustainable development, and propose the subjects of basic studies and applied basic studies on the earth sciences.
