Abstract:In order to develop an individual monitor for the concentration of respiratory dust in the mines,the MIE light scattering method was used to trial-manufacture an individual monitor for the concentration of respiratory dust with the infrared light-emitting diodes as the light source,which was mainly composed of a gas path,an optical path,and a circuit.Through using a self-made dust simple test device,the corresponding relationship between the voltage output value of the trial instrument and the mass concentration of the incoming dust was studied under the conditions of a gas flow of 2 L/min and a particle size of not more than 5 μm.The results showed that according to the output voltage data under different mass concentrations of dust,within the measurement range of 0~300 mg/m3,there was a linear function relationship between the output voltage value of trial-manufactured instrument and the dust concentration,which indicated that the individual monitor for the concentration of respiratory dust was reasonable and feasible.The comparative analysis of the test results by the dust monitor and the comparison instrument showed that the maximum measurement error was 1.59%,which satisfied the requirements of the dust verification regulations.
