Diurnal Variations of NMHC1 NOX, O3 and SO2 in Shanghai Atmosphere
Abstract:Through monitoring the diurnal variations of the main photochemical pollutants in Shanghai atmosphere, such as NMHC, NOx, O3 and SO2, observed that the variations of NOx and O3 were closely related with meteorological conditions, that high O3 concentration emerged under less clouded and high air temperature conditions. Synchronous monitoring of NMHC, SO2, O3 and NOx in the atmosphere revealed that there was a negative correlation between O3 and NOx with the correlation coefficieny of-0.785. It also revealed that there was a positive correlation between SO2 and NMHC with the correlation efficiency of 0.43 (n=42). The results indicated that there were strong sources of NMHC and sources of NOx in Shanghai atmosphere which accounted for high NMHC/NOx ratio and caused the atmosphere highly active. Photochemical smog will be formed at high probability when there is sufficient sunshine.
