Effet du cadmium sur la toxicite du mercure vis-a-vis de la moule Mytilus edulis (L.)

Mussels have been simultaneously or successively exposed to cadmium and mercury. The presence of cadmium before or during the exposure to mercury led to a decrease of mercury toxicity. When compared with a single metal exposure the association of the two metals had no significant effect on the mercury accumulation, but induced a decrease of the cadmium accumulation by the organisms.
