Herbicide and surfactant spill analysis of an industrial waste dumping at Llobregat river (Spain)

Commercial herbicides, atrazine and trifluralin, surfactants and related compounds as dodecylbenzenes, long chain alcohols and nonylphenols have been found in Llobregat river, suspected of causing environmental impacts such as fish mortality and groundwater pollution of wells placed by the river. Solvent extraction, Sep-Pak enrichment and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry were used for compound separation and identification.
