| Abstract: | The present paper summarizes the major environmental accidents in China during the year 2000 to May 2001.These accidents are calssified into seven categories(Tables 1~7),i.e.dust storm,red tide,pollution accident,landslide,insect pest,natural calmity,and other accidents.Total 51,15,30,16,18,50,and 2 major events with their data,place,and the accident nature are reported for the dust storm,red tide,pollution accidents,landslide,insect pest,natural calamity,and other accidents respectively.Sources for the 182 events are also listed.Statistics data are analyzed and the tendencies of these accidents,in particular the dust storm and red tide,are discussed. |
