平潭中国鲎保护区规划建议

平潭中国鲎自然保护区(省级)于1998年列入《福建省自然保护区发展规划(1998—2010)》。过去四年间，平潭的滩涂环境、鲎资源分布及社会经济结构都起了较大变化。因此，有必要结合现有条件，重新考虑保护区选址、形式、规模等一系列问题．调查结果显示，在现有平潭中国鲎自然保护区预留区内，跨海澳、甲狮澳至钱便澳海区和坛南湾观音澳以南海区仍具备适宜中国鲎保护的自然、资源及社会环境．建议在相关区域设立两个核心区，分别为被保护对象提供产卵、发育场地和越冬、摄食场所，并在两区之间留出季节性保护的洄游通道．本文还就保护区的形式和任务提出叁考意见．

Suggestions on the Planning for a Horseshoe Crab Nature Reserve in Pingtan

Fujian Pinstan Horseshoe Crab Nature Reserve was planned in 1998,but no substantial progress has been achieved ever since.According to a recent investigation,one of the four areas that have been planned for the reserve is heavily threatened by increased pollution and the beach is far less attractive to spawning horseshoe crabs than a few years ago.In the present plan,it is suggested that the reserve comprise one experiment area and two core areas,of which one provides deep water habitat for adult horseshoe crabs and the other for the animals' spawning and juvenile development.The migration channel between the two cores should be protected from human disturbance in horseshoe crab spawning seasons.
