Use of Packed Beds for Separation of Entrained Particles and Fumes from An Air Stream

This paper deals with packed beds in discussion of separation of entrained particles and fumes from an air stream. Packed beds develop between the gas and liquid a maximum of contact in order to get maximum mass transfer from a gas to a liquid phase, and they are considered to be one of the better methods of scrubbing contaminants from a gas stream.
