Some Effects of Electrostatic Charges In Fabric Filtration
Authors:Edward R. Frederick

Abstract:In filtration operations, electrostatic charges may have both good and bad effects. The good features that result in outstanding collection efficiency are believed to be attributable to particle-to-fabric attractions and agglomeration. On the bad side, static charges and their forces of attraction don’t necessarily stop at the end of the collection cycle and, therefore, they often restrict cleanability. But, this too, is sometimes desirable.
