Abstract:Aiming at the problem of rapid corrosion of seawater pipelines caused by stray currents, the influence of 50 Hz and 100 Hz AC stray currents on the corrosion of seawater pipelines is studied, and the AC stray current corrosion control technology is established to provide technical support for the AC stray current corrosion control of seawater pipelines of ships. The effect of AC stray current frequency and voltage amplitude on the corrosion law of seawater pipeline AC stray current and the control effect of direct electric drainage method on the corrosion of seawater pipeline AC stray current were studied by using weight loss, electrochemical test, SEM and EDS analysis. The experimental results show that corrosion rate of 90/10 copper-nickel alloy increases with the increase of the velocity amplitude of AC stray current and decreases with the increase of frequency of AC stray current, and corrosion preferentially occur in the unsubstantial positions of oxidization film. When the voltage amplitude of AC increases to some value, the dissolution reaction of Cu and reduction reaction of Cu2+ occur synchronously. The leakage current generated by the grounding of AC electrical equipment will lead to AC stray current corrosion of seawater pipelines, and the direct electric drainage method can effectively protect 90/10 copper-nickel alloy seawater pipelines.
