Application of Pyrrosia petiolosa and Erythrodontium julaceum for Ecological Restoration of Karst Rock Outcrop

Karst outcrop is one of the key elements of rocky desertification ecosystem.It has positive and negative effects on karst environment.The heating effect of karst outcrop has become an obstacle to rocky desertification control.It is of great significance to carry out ecological restoration of karst outcrop for rocky desertification control.Pyrrosia petiolosa is typical drought-tolerant and medicinal plants in karst environment.Erythrodontium Julaceum is a pioneer plant on exploiting soil in karst environment.The ecological functions of the crusts of E.julaceum,such as soil formation,water conservation and nitrogen fixation,improve the poor surface environment of karst outcrop,and provide conditions for the planting of P.petiolosa.They have a high degree of agreement with the karst outcrop environment,indicating that the two plants have important potential application value in the ecological restoration of karst outcrop.This paper first summarizes the positive and negative effects of karst outcrop,and then summarizes the physiological drought tolerance of P.petiolosa and eco-physiological functions of E.julaceum.On this basis,the paper discusses the possibility and approach of the application of P.petiolosa and E.julaceum in ecological restoration of karst exposed rocks,aiming to provide new ideas and effective ways for karst rocky desertification control in Southwest China.
