Mountain-Water-Forest-Field-Lake-Grass-Sea-City Restoration Model:Practical Application and Ecological Benefits Evaluation for Quarries in Weihai Huaxia City

The holistic protection and restoration of mountain-water-forest-field-lake-grass emphasizes the integrity,systematicness and stability of ecosystem.The health and stability of the ecosystem is conducive to the comprehensive optimization and improvement of the ecosystem services,and is essential to ensure ecological environment security and the healthily coordinated development of socio-economy.The Weihai Huaxia City was severely disturbed by large-scale quarrying,which seriously affected the regional production,living and ecological environment.After more than ten years of ecological restoration,Huaxia City had achieved synergy between ecological and socio-economic benefits.In this paper,we refined the ecological restoration strategy of Huaxia City.Based on the ecological elements of mountain-water-forest-field-lake-grass-sea-city,the practical experiences of the holistic ecosystem restoration design in Huaxia City were summarized.We assessed the ecological benefits of water conservation,soil conservation and biodiversity maintenance in different periods of ecological restoration.Huaxia City payed attention to the collaborative optimization of ecological restoration and landscape design,and created cultural tourism landscapes according to local conditions,so as to realize the reconstruction and landscaping of abandoned quarries.The study can provide some thoughts and pattern references for regional ecological protection and restoration.
