Evolution of Soil Erosion in the Inland of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area Based on the RUSLE

To explore the temporal and spatial evolution of soil erosion in the Wushan and Fengjie area,the combination of RS,GIS technology and RUSLE model were used in this paper,so as to provide a reference for soil and water conservation measures in the two counties of Wushan and Fengjie.Research shows:1)The soil erosion modulus of the study area shows a trend of increasing first and then decreasing during 1988 and 2015.In 2000,the erosion is the most serious,with the average erosion modulus of 4030.99 t/(km²·a).2)In the early and middle costruction stages of the Three Gorges Reservoir area,the amount of soil erosion intensity transfer is the largest,mainly distributed in the trough and valley areas in the northeast and southwest of the study area.3)Severely eroded areas are similar to areas with drastic changes.They are basically the areas with severe human activities,and dry land is the land use category with the largest proportion of heavily eroded areas.4)During the three stages of the Three Gorges Reservoir construction,soil erosion in the study area presents three stages:deterioration,slow improvement and obvious improvement,and the overall status of soil erosion is improved.From 1988 to 2015,the soil erosion in the study area is improved in a fluctuated status.The range with slope of 25°~30°and elevation of 800~1000 m are the serious erosion areas,and they are also the main control areas of soil erosion in Wushan and Fengjie counties.
