| Abstract: | Sustainable design (SD) is a design management practice which aims to balance the environmental, economic and social needs. While life cycle assessment (LCA) should be developed further, and environment-oriented design rules become feasible to integrate SD into the existing design practice, which is the key of SD management. In view of some cases and some problems, the strategies for developing SD in China were discussed. |
