Abstract:A three-year comprehensive investigation on major features of the composite ecosystem in Beijing-Tianjin area has been done and briefed here.The most important contribution of this research lies in its development of methodology and software for ecologic-social-economic studies. On the basis of the principles and methodology of ecologic-economic analysis, an integrated zoning and regional planning of 34,000 km2 area have been made. The major cco-environmental issues in this area are: shortage of water and clean fuels, natural ecosystem deterioration and pollution, Strategic measures and technical ways for conservation of natural resources and protection of the environment have been discussed.A typical town is chosen to demonstrate simultaneous improvement of ecological productivity, economic development and environmental quality.
