Discussions on Protection Scope and Requirement of Nuclear Power Plant Sites

The site selection of nuclear power plant need to consider many nature and human induced factors, therefore, the suitable sites under strict selection are scarcity resources. If the sites are not protected strength enough, they will be possible de-stroyed and lead to huge losses. Considering the long-term development of nuclear power, in order to avoid the site and sur-rounding environment conditions to be destroyed by human induced factors, adopting effective measures to protect the sites are es-sentially. There are no specific requirements of site protection in the current nuclear safety codes, guides and relevant standards, therefore, the protection scope and requirement are discussed in this paper, and related analysis will be expected to be beneficial reference for making protection approaches of nuclear power plant sites.
