| Abstract: | This article reviews the disaster which happened in the North Sea, United Kingdom, in 1988. This disaster is remarkable due to its resulting improvement in the worldwide offshore petroleum industry. The general introduction and process of the disaster and its influence on the future world is discussed. More specifically,this paper summarizes the facts of the people death during the accident and the safety training in terms of newcomer training, emergency duty training and evacuation exercise. Some lessons learned are highlighted. |
