Application of correspondence analysis to apportion sources of ambient particles

Abstract:The application of a correspondence analysis to an aerosol collected in a simple atmospheric environment permitted the evaluation of the emission sources. A quantitative relation on the chemical composition of the emission sources was obtained from the calculation of the barycentre of sample clusters, and the mean chemical profile of each emission source was determined.
