Based on soil sample preparation in Shanghai soil pollution investigation,the whole process were elaborated including air drying,coarse grinding,fine grinding,packaging and distribution.The hardware including workplace,tools,sample containers etc.were listed.The uncertainty of sample preparation from operators and appropriate air drying time were discussed.Quality assurance measures and advanced equipment and technology for soil sample preparation were introduced.In addition,the details of the whole process were discussed including self-examination,supervision and inspection measures during the sample preparation,method of selection and cleaning container,representativeness and uniformity of the soil sample.The importance of a unified label,serial number and documentation during the whole process were explained,especially involving multiple units.
