Abstract:Taking the dis-connected shallow lakes along the mid-lower reaches of the Yangtze River as the research area,this paper analyzed 116 lake-times data about macrobenthos from 20 years(1998-2018)recently to construct the O/E index health evaluation index system based on the predictive model,and assessed the integrity of macrobenthos assemblages in dis-connected shallow lakes along the mid-lower Yangtze River Basin.The evaluation results of O/E index models showed that the expected taxa richness were higher in probabilities of capture(Pc)>0 than that in Pc≥0.5.Modeled O/E values in O/E0 and O/E50 were similar with that in null O/E model,but the bias(%RF Var)in null O/E models were higher than that in modeled O/E.The bias in O/E50 model was zero,thus O/E50 model would be the optimal model for lake assessment.The assessment results showed that the health condition in shallow lakes was fair.Only 20%lakes were in health condition,about 25%lakes were in poor condition.O/E index was significantly related to the eutrophication indicators,which indicted that it could reflect the change of the nutrient state of lakes.Our results indicated that O/E index could apply to health assessment in shallow lakes and provided a scientific basis for lake restoration and sustainable development.
