Abstract:Taking the urban area of Hohhot as the study area,we conducted an experiment to analyze the causes of waterlogging through historical waterlogging data collection and field investigation,and collected the actual data of specific locations,waterlogging range and occurrence frequency of 78 waterlogging points.Based on the analysis of the spatial and temporal characteristics of the waterlogging points and the results show that,waterlogging disasters are more frequent in recent years(2016-2019)than in previous years(2010-2016).Secondly,waterlogging mainly occurred from June to September,especially in July.In terms of spatial distribution characteristics,the density of waterlogging points in Saihan District is the largest,while that in Yuquan District is the smallest.The correlation analysis method was used to analyze the causes of waterlogging in the study area and showed that the days of strom were less(1961-2018),but the strom precipitation was high with an average of 22.0%and the highest of 39.3%.In addition,93.59%of the waterlogging points were located in low-lying areas.Furthermore,the lower flux of rainwater pipeline leads to the increase of waterlogging area.To sum up,extreme precipitation and topography lead to large surface runoff,accumulated runoff and waterlogging in low-lying areas.However,the urban drainage system can not meet the drainage demand and other human factors cause too small rainwater pipeline flow,resulting in too large water area and the formation of waterlogging.
