| Abstract: | Factors that influence the water quality of Suzhou Creek (Shanghai reach) were discussed as follows: (1) quality of source water including the run-off flow from the upper reach in Jiangsu Province and the tidal flow from Huangpu River; (2) pollution from the branches; (3) shipping pollution; (4) industrial wastewater; (5) overflow of heavy storm; (6) rural discharges; (7) domestic sewage and (8) bottom deposit, and several opinions for solving these problems were presented. |
