Abstract: | In the Meteorological Institute of the University of Hamburg, wind tunnel experiments have been carried out to investigate the influence of surface roughness and other zone of flow establishment characteristics on the distribution of turbulent energy in simulated atmospheric boundary layers. Time series of longitudinal velocity fluctuations have been measured by hot film anemometry. The signal output has been digitalized and stored in a high resolution signal memory recorder. Spectra of longitudinal turbulence have been calculated and compared with those obtained in field measurements and other wind tunnels. |
