As part of a survey programme conducted by the Environment Department of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia in collaboration with the Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), dioxin concentrations in ambient air were measured in the four provinces of Catalonia (Spain). The study was also performed with the intention of providing data as a basis for future monitoring and evaluation of temporal trends in ambient air. Thus, 91 samples were collected in 25 different sites (rural, urban, suburban and industrial) between 1994 and 2000. The levels revealed a variable content of PCDDs/PCDFs depending both on the area and the contamination source. In particular, industrial areas presented levels ranging from 18 to 954 fg I-TEQ/m3. However, findings in urban and suburban sites varied between 13 and 357 fg I-TEQ/m3. As expected, the lowest levels were found in rural areas with levels between 5 and 125 fg I-TEQ/m3.  相似文献

Rapid economic growth in the last two decades in Shanghai has had a great adverse influence on its air quality. Therefore, the atmospheric pollutants of Shanghai have received much concern. In this study, concentrations of 2,3,7,8-substituted PCDD/Fs and PBDD/Fs congeners were measured in the ambient air of four districts in Shanghai. The mean atmospheric concentrations (TEQs) of total 2,3,7,8-PCDD/Fs and 2,3,7,8-PBDD/Fs were 8031 fg m(-3) (497.1 fg I-TEQ m(-3)) and 1358 fg m(-3) (304.1 fg I-TEQ m(-3)) for Jiading District, 5308 fg m(-3) (289.0 fg I-TEQ m(-3)) and 709 fg m(-3) (146.9 fg I-TEQ m(-3)) for Zhabei District, 4014 fg m(-3) (144.4 fg I-TEQ m(-3)) and 1239 fg m(-3) (256.9 fg I-TEQ m(-3)) for Pudong District, 3348 fg m(-3) (143.2 fg I-TEQ m(-3)) and 699 fg m(-3) (148.4 fg I-TEQ m(-3)) for Huangpu District, respectively. Our results showed that almost all the PCDD/Fs and PBDD/Fs congeners were partitioned into the particulate phase except the lower chlorinated or brominated ones. The logarithm of the gas/particle partitioning coefficient K(p) has good linear correlation with that of the sub-cooled vapor pressure p(L). Concentrations of PCDD/Fs and PBDD/Fs were both positively correlated to elemental carbon in all districts except Pudong District, suggesting elemental carbon could be a good indicator for dioxins' air pollution. It is intensively suggested that more detailed and deeper studies about PBDD/Fs should be carried out due to their relatively high atmospheric concentrations in Shanghai.  相似文献

Atmospheric concentrations of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans (PCDD/F) compounds were investigated at three different regions of Istanbul which reflect urban, urban/industrial, and sub-urban characteristics. Air samples were collected simultaneously for both gaseous and particulate phases using high volume samplers on monthly time intervals from May 2011 to October 2012. The highest concentrations (3,056 fg/m3 and 156 fg I-TEQ/m3) were observed at the sampling site that reflects traffic, residential, and industrial emission source characteristics, while the lowest concentrations (829 fg/m3 and 38 fg I-TEQ/m3) were observed at the sampling point which is far away from centrum and reflects sub-urban characteristics. Concentrations of PCDD congeners were, in general, found to be higher than PCDF congeners, and OCDD, 1,2,3,4,6,7,8-HpCDD/F, and OCDF congeners were recorded to be the most abundant congeners. Winter season concentrations were also found to be higher especially in particulate phase. As a result, combustion processes such as motor vehicles and residential heating equipment were thought to be the principal sources of emissions of PCDD/F compounds when both congener profiles and seasonal variations are considered. Basic statistical evaluation of the data resembled high degree of inverse correlations between PCDD/F concentrations and UV and solar radiation.  相似文献

The construction in Constantí (Catalonia, Spain) of a new hazardous waste incinerator (HWI), which is the first one in Spain, finished in 1999. In order to determine the temporal variation (1996–1998) in the concentrations of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) and dibenzofurans (PCDFs) in the vicinity of the new HWI, 40 soil and 40 herbage samples were collected (1998) at the same sampling points in which samples had been taken two years before (1996). Each sample was analyzed for PCDDs and PCDFs by high resolution gas chromatography/high resolution mass spectrometry. In the 1996 survey, PCDD/F concentrations in soils ranged from 0.13 to 24.20 ng I-TEQ/kg (d.m.), with median and mean values of 0.67 and 1.68 ng I-TEQ/kg (d.m.), respectively. In the present study, PCDD/F concentrations ranged from 0.12 to 17.20 ng I-TEQ/kg (d.m.), with a median value of 0.75 ng I-TEQ/kg (d.m.) and a mean value of 1.59 ng I-TEQ/kg (d.m.). In turn, in the present study PCDD/F concentrations in vegetation ranged from 0.14 to 2.01 ng I-TEQ/kg (d.m.) (median and mean values: 0.23 and 0.31 ng I-TEQ/kg, respectively), while in the 1996 survey PCDD/F concentrations ranged from 0.24 to 1.22 ng I-TEQ/kg (d.m.) (median and mean values: 0.53 and 0.61 ng I-TEQ/kg, respectively). According to the present (1998) and the previous (1996) levels of PCDD/Fs found in soils and vegetation, the area under potential influence of the new facility shows a rather low contamination by these compounds. The current results should be useful to establish the environmental impact of the HWI.  相似文献

A total of 27 ambient air samples of were collected from six locations in Hong kong during the period of January-August, 2000 and analysed for polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) and dibenzofurans (PCDFs). In all sampling locations, higher concentrations of PCDDs/PCDFs, ranging from 0.03 to 0.43 pg I-TEQ/m3 were measured in winter months (January and March) than in the summer months (July and August) of concentrations at 0.018-0.025 pg I-TEQ/m3. These concentrations are similar to annual ranges reported earlier for two Hong Kong urban sites and other urban cities in Asia. Europe, and the United States. Despite significant seasonal variations in ambient air concentrations of PCDD/Fs (expressed in I-TEQ) were observed, the congener profiles of all the samples in this study period were similar, with OCDD, 1,2,3,4,6,7,8-HpCDD, OCDF and 1,2,3,4,6,7,8-HpCDF being the predominant species. However, the homologue profiles for the samples collected at the six locations of this study were found to display significantly different spatial and seasonal trends.  相似文献

The levels of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDD) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDF) were determined in soil and vegetation samples taken from 24 sites in the vicinity of an old municipal solid waste incinerator (San Adrià del Besòs, Barcelona, Spain). Duplicate samples were collected within a radius of 3 km from the stack. PCDD/F concentrations in soils ranged from 1.22 to 34.28 ng I-TEQ/kg (d.m.) with median and mean values of 9.06 and 12.24 ng I-TEQ/kg, respectively. In turn, the levels of PCDD/Fs in vegetation samples ranged from 0.33 to 1.98 ng I-TEQ/kg (d.m.), with median and mean values of 0.58 and 0.70 ng I-TEQ/kg, respectively. Although the present PCDD/F concentrations in soil samples were higher than those recently found in soils taken near other incinerators from Catalonia, they are of the same order of magnitude than the levels of these pollutants found in incinerators from other countries. By contrast, the concentrations of PCDD/Fs in herbage samples were comparable to those found in recent surveys carried out in Catalonia.  相似文献

Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxin (PCDD) and polychlorinated dibenzofuran (PCDF) levels were determined in adipose tissue of 15 autopsied subjects who at the time of death had lived in the city of Tarragona (Catalonia, Spain) and surroundings during at least the last 10 years. PCDD/F concentrations ranged between 13.37 and 69.37 ng I-TEQ/kg fat, with mean and median values of 30.98 and 26.30 ng I-TEQ/kg fat, respectively. PCDD/F concentrations were higher (p < 0.01) in women (mean value: 44.95 ng I-TEQ/kg fat) than in men (mean value: 24.00 ng I-TEQ/kg fat). Although individuals living in industrial areas showed higher PCDD/F levels than those living Tarragona downtown the difference was not statistically significant. When Principal Component Analysis was applied to the concentrations of PCDD/Fs found in the 15 adipose tissue samples together with those found in 20 blood samples collected in a previous study, a single two-dimensional model was obtained, which would explain 62.9% of the variance in the data. The PCDD/F concentrations in adipose tissue found in the current study are of the same order of magnitude than those reported for most industrialized countries.  相似文献

Levels of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDD) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDF) in both air and soil samples were measured at three different sites in Italy, in proximity to three municipal solid waste incinerators (MSWIs) to determine baseline contamination and the contributory role of incinerator emissions. At the first site, located in an agricultural, cattle-breeding, typically flattish area of the Po Valley, the dioxin concentrations had already been measured before the start-up of the new MSWI. These dioxin concentrations were then again measured after two years of continual operation of the incinerator. Despite the presence of the plant, the PCDD/Fs concentrations appear not to have been affected and were found to be in a range of 22-125 fg I-TEQ m(-3) in the air samples and 0.7-1.5 pg I-TEQ g(-1) in the soil samples. The second site is located in an industrial district of the Veneto Region, in the surroundings of an old MSWI that is not equipped with Best Available Technology (BAT) dioxin removal system. The PCDD/Fs concentrations in the air samples were between 144 and 337 fg I-TEQ m(-3). This is a typical range of values for industrial areas, while the soil samples showed contamination levels between 1.1 and 1.4 pg I-TEQ g(-1). The third site lies in the Adige Valley, near a MSWI that has been equipped with BAT for flue gas cleaning. The observed values ranged from 10 to 67 fg I-TEQ m(-3) for the air samples and 0.08-1.2 pg I-TEQ g(-1) for the soil samples. The contributory factors of the varying characteristics of the different areas together with the types of technology adopted at each MSWI plant are discussed. The PCDD/Fs levels are subsequently compared with established values from previous studies.  相似文献

Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (dioxins and furans) are persistent, bioaccumulative and highly toxic chemical constituents that appear in the environment at very low and difficult to measure levels. Although dioxins and furans are widely recognized as toxic contaminants needing regulation, their temporal and spatial concentration profiles and the factors impacting their partitioning and congener distribution are only moderately understood. This paper presents the results from one of the most extensive ambient air dioxin and furan sampling efforts conducted in a geographic area to date. The data consist of monthly ambient concentrations of 17 of the most toxic congeners of dioxins and furans collected at five locations in Houston, Texas over a calendar year. The results showed a total annual mean dioxin and furan congener concentration of 1047 fg/m3 and an annual mean summation operatorI-TEQ concentration of 15 fg I-TEQ/m3 (16 fg WHO-TEQ/m3). These results, when compared with proximate data from the USEPA National Dioxin Ambient Monitoring Network (NDAMN), revealed significant (at the P0.05 level) differences between Houston and the NDAMN sites, suggesting the existence of local dioxin sources. A temporal analysis of the data showed that the congener concentration distribution varies over time, depending on the level of chlorination, type of congener, and temperature. The results also suggested that the fluctuations of congener concentrations and I-TEQ concentrations are closely correlated with minimum relative humidity, mean temperature, and mean NOx concentration.  相似文献

PCDD/F analyses were made in soil and ambient air samples taken from Kocaeli, an industrialized area of Turkey. Results showed that the levels of PCDD/F pollution are comparable to the levels observed in the various urban areas in the world. PCDD/F concentrations in surface soils ranged between 0.4 and 4.27 pg I-TEQ kg(-1) with a geometric mean of 0.76 pg I-TEQ kg(-1), while those in ambient air were between 23 and 563 f gm(-3), with geometric mean of 82.0 f gm(-3). Ambient air PCDD/F concentration in the city center was about 10 times higher than those in the rural area. Combustion activities present in the area were assessed to be the most significant source of the PCDD/F pollution based on the congener and homologue profiles and statistical analysis of the data. The deposition rate modeling of USEPA was applied and the deposition rates were determined in the range between 7.6 and 66.3 ng I-TEQ m(-2)year(-1) with a geometric mean of 15.9 ng I-TEQ m(-2)year(-1). The rates were higher than the recommended deposition rates in relation to the tolerable daily intake (TDI) range of PCDD/Fs for humans. The deposition velocities computed were also found to be high in both low and highly chlorinated PCDD/Fs, and this was attributed to the vapor phase deposition of volatile PCDD/Fs, and the scavenging effect of the precipitation on the particle-bound PCDD/Fs.  相似文献

In this study, ambient air samples were taken concurrently in the vicinity area of a large-scale municipal waste incinerator (MWI) and the background area for measuring polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and furans (PCDD/Fs) concentrations from November 1999 through July 2000 in northern Taiwan. The results obtained from eighteen ambient air samples indicate that the mean PCDD/F concentration of seventeen 2,3,7,8-substituted congeners in wintertime (188–348 fg-I-TEQ/m3) is significantly higher than that measured in summertime (56–166 fg-I-TEQ/m3). In addition, the seasonal PCDD/F concentrations are compared with the ambient air quality data including CO, NO2, PM10 and TSP sampled from Taipei area to gain better insights. It indicates that the variation of ambient air PCDD/F concentrations is closely correlated with that of PM10 concentrations. Besides, the results indicate that the I-TEQ concentration of ambient air in sampling site B (directly downwind of the MWI) is of the highest while the sampling site A (upwind of MWI) is of the lowest among all sampling sites. This implies that existing MWI can be a significant emitter of PCDD/Fs in this area. Furthermore, the patterns of the PCDD/F congener distribution at all sampling sites (including the background site in Taoyuan) are quite similar. OCDD concentration is of the highest among seventeen PCDD/F congeners investigated and accounts for about 35% of the total concentration. As for the I-TEQ concentrations, 2,3,4,7,8-PeCDF is the most significant contributor, generally being responsible for 30–45% of the total I-TEQ values depending on the sampling sites and seasons.  相似文献

In April 1996 and 1998, the concentrations of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDD) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDF) were determined in 40 herbage samples collected in the neighborhood of a hazardous waste incinerator (HWI) under construction in Constanti (Catalonia, Spain). In April 2000, 20 months after the HWI began operating, herbage samples were again collected at the same sampling points in which samples had been taken in the previous surveys. PCDD/F concentrations ranged between 0.13 and 0.65 ng I-TEQ/kg (dry matter), with a median and mean values of 0.29 and 0.32 ng I-TEQ/kg (dry matter), respectively. The results were compared with those obtained in the 1996 (median, 0.53 ng I-TEQ/kg; mean, 0.61 ng I-TEQ/kg) and the 1998 (median, 0.23 ng I-TEQ/kg; mean, 0.31 ng I-TEQ/kg) surveys. While in the period 1996-1998 a significant decrease (49%, P < 0.001) in the mean PCDD/F levels was noted, in the period 1998-2000 an increase of 3% (P > 0.05) was found in the concentrations of PCDD/Fs. The analysis of the results suggests two potential hypotheses: either the emissions of PCDD/Fs from the HWI are not negligible, or the current PCDD/F emissions from other sources near the HWI remained at similar levels to those reached in 1998. Anyhow, an exhaustive evaluation of the present data shows an absence of notable PCDD/F contamination by the HWI in the area under its direct influence. It seems also probable that the decline in the atmospheric levels of PCDD/Fs due other emission sources of PCDD/Fs in this area is currently stopped.  相似文献

Concentrations of 17 toxic 2,3,7,8-substituted polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) have been determined in pooled samples of breast milk from 15 mothers living in two residential areas (Tarragona downtown and an industrial area) in the vicinity of a new hazardous waste incinerator (HWI), now under construction in Tarragona (southern Catalonia, Spain). PCDD/Fs in human milk samples ranged between 5.9 and 17.1 pg I-TEQ/g fat (162-498 pg I-TEQ/l), with a mean value of 11.8 pg I-TEQ/g fat (310.8 pg I-TEQ/l). The percentages of fat ranged between 1.53 and 3.52. Although PCDD/F levels in milk from mothers living in the industrial area were found to be slightly higher than those observed in women living Tarragona downtown, most differences did not reach the level of statistical significance. In general terms, PCDD/F concentrations in human milk (pooled) samples of mothers living in the area of Tarragona are similar or lower than those previously reported for most industrialized countries.  相似文献

The concentrations of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) were determined in plasma samples of 20 nonoccupationally exposed subjects living in the vicinity of a new hazardous waste incinerator (HWI), now under construction in Tarragona (Catalonia, Spain). The mean PCDD/F value was 27.0 pg I-TEQ/g lipid with a range from 14.8 to 48.9 pg I-TEQ/g lipid. All samples showed higher PCDD than PCDF levels. Although PCDD/F concentrations were higher in women (27.7 pg I-TEQ/g lipid) than in men (25.2 pg I-TEQ/g lipid), the difference was not statistically significant. While a significant correlation (r = 0.565, p < 0.01) between the age of the subjects and the levels of PCDD/F in plasma could be observed, no significant differences were found in relation to the specific residential area. The plasma concentrations of PCDD/F obtained in the current study are discussed and compared with the results of similar investigations reported in the last two years.  相似文献

Particle-bound polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDD/Fs) in ambient air were monitored together with particulate matter less than 10 μm (PM10) at three sampling sites of the Andean city of Manizales, Colombia; during September 2009 and July 2010. PCDD/Fs ambient air emissions ranged from 1 fg WHO-TEQ m−3 to 52 fg WHO-TEQ m−3 in particulate fraction. The PM10 concentrations ranged from 23 μg m−3 to 54 μg m−3. Concentrations of PM10 and PCDD/Fs in ambient air observed for Manizales - a medium sized city with a population of 380 000 - were comparable to concentrations in larger cities. The highest concentrations of PCDD/Fs and PM10 found in this study were determined at the central zone of the city, characterized by public transportation density, where diesel as principal fuel is used. In addition, hypothetical gas fractions of PCDD/Fs were calculated from theoretical Kp data. Congener profiles of PCDD/Fs exhibited ratios associated with different combustion sources at the different sampling locations, ranging from steel recycling to gasoline and diesel engines. Taking into account particle and gas hypothetical fraction of PCDD/Fs, Manizales exhibited values of PCDD/Fs equivalent to rural and urban-industrial sites in the southeast and center of the city respectively. Poor correlation of PCDDs with PM10 (r = −0.55 and r = 0.52) suggests ambient air PCDDs were derived from various combustion sources. Stronger correlation was observed of PCDFs with PM10. Poor correlation between precipitation and reduced PM10 concentration in ambient air (r = −0.45) suggested low PM10 removal by rainfall.  相似文献

This study investigates the emissions of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) from four electric arc furnaces (EAFs) and eight secondary aluminum smelters (secondary ALSs) in Taiwan. The mean PCDD/F International-Toxicity Equivalents (I-TEQ) concentrations in the stack gases of these EAFs and secondary ALSs are 0.28 ng I-TEQ/Nm3 (relative standard deviation [RSD]= 100%) and 3.3 ng I-TEQ/Nm3 (RSD = 260%), respectively. The high RSDs, especially for those obtained from secondary ALSs, could be caused by the intrinsic differences in their involved feeding materials, furnace operating conditions, and air pollution control devices. The mean I-TEQ emission factor of PCDD/Fs for EAFs (1.8 microg I-TEQ/tonne-feedstock) is lower than that for secondary ALSs (37 microg I-TEQ/tonne-feedstock). This result might be because the involved furnace temperatures for secondary ALSs (650-750 degrees C) are lower than those for EAFs (1600-1700 degrees C), resulting in the deterioration of the combustion condition, leading to the formation of PCDD/Fs during the industrial process. This study found that the total PCDD/F emissions from EAFs (20 g I-TEQ/yr) and secondary ALSs (18 g I-TEQ/yr) are approximately 27, 53, and approximately 24, 49 times higher than those from municipal solid waste incinerators (MSWIs; 0.74 g I-TEQ/yr) and medical waste incinerators (MWIs; 0.37 g I-TEQ/yr), respectively; while those are 44 and 40% of total PCDD/F emission from sinter plants (45 g I-TEQ/ yr), respectively. Considering a more stringent emission limit has been applied to waste incinerators (0.1 ng I-TEQ/Nm3) in Taiwan lately, the results suggest that the control of the emissions from metallurgical processes has become the most important issue for reducing the total PCDD/F emission from industrial sectors to the ambient environment.  相似文献

Measurements of the concentrations of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans (PCDD/Fs) were made in ambient air, ash, and soil impacted by the open burning of wax apple and rice straw residues. Measurements showed that the mean PCDD/F concentration (0.458 pg I-TEQ/Nm3; international toxicity equivalence) in air at two wax apple orchards during open burning increased markedly, -8.1 times higher than that (0.057 pg I-TEQ/Nm3); before open burning. In addition, the mean PCDD/F concentration (0.409 pg I-TEQ/Nm3) in ambient air at a rice straw field was 4.6 times higher than that (0.089 pg I-TEQ/Nm3) before open burning. After burning the residues of wax apple stubble and rice straw, the contents of PCDD/F in ashes were 1.393 and 1.568 ng I-TEQ/kg-ash, respectively, and the contents of PCDD/F in soil were 2.258 and 2.890 ng I-TEQ/kg-soil, respectively. Therefore, the turnover of soil with the ash after open burning over years will result in the accumulation of PCDD/Fs in farm soils.  相似文献

PCDD/F and dioxin-like PCB were measured in 142 air samples of Hong Kong. The annual average PCDD/F and dioxin-like PCB concentrations obtained for Hong Kong air at Tap Mun (PCDD/F: 1724+/-1984; dioxin-like PCB: 1572+/-1170 fg m(-3)), Yuen Long (PCDD/F: 2927+/-2695; dioxin-like PCB: 4331+/-1962 fg m(-3)) and Tsuen Wan (PCDD/F: 1875+/-1502; dioxin-like PCB: 2972+/-1510 fg m(-3)) from January 2004 to March 2005 were comparable to other urban centers around the world and were within the Japanese and USA ambient air quality guidelines. A clear seasonal pattern was observed for PCDD/F, generally with a 50-60 times higher air concentration in winter when background northerly wind was weaker and land-sea breeze prevailed, resulting in regional transport; and a lower concentration in summer, due to the inflow of clean oceanic southeasterly wind from the South China Sea. A higher WHO-TEQ value of dioxin-like PCB (mainly attributed to the relatively higher WHO-TEQ value of PCB 126) in Yuen Long during winter, compared with other months, could also be related to the regional transport by the winter monsoon wind and the low mixing height in winter. Spatially, air concentrations of PCDD/F and dioxin-like PCB demonstrated a west-to-east gradient (with Yuen Long>Tsuen Wan>Tap Mun). It is suggested that PCDD/F and dioxin-like PCB were transported into the western airshed of Hong Kong from the Pearl River Delta by land-sea breeze circulation and confined to the northwestern part, due to the blocking effect of the northwestern airshed in Hong Kong.  相似文献

The PCDD/Fs in the ambient air associated with concentration and dry deposition flux of four seasons were characterized in rural area. The mean PCDD/F concentrations were 0.342, 0.221, 0.675, 0.741 pg m(-3) and the mean I-TEQ values were 0.027, 0.016, 0.024, 0.063 pg m(-3) in spring, summer, fall and winter, respectively. Ambient air in winter was higher by a factor of 3.4 and 3.9 for PCDD/F concentration and I-TEQ, respectively, than in summer. The study area is located in a Tropical region. Hence, domestic heating is not found in this area and is not responsible for the elevated winter concentration in comparison to other studies. A smooth plate with a sharp leading edge that is pointed into the wind by a wind vane was used for measuring dry deposition flux of PCDD/Fs. Atmospheric dry deposition fluxes of total PCDD/Fs were 140, 116, 137, and 207 pg m(-2)day(-1) in spring, summer, fall, and winter, respectively, and averaged approximately 150 pg m(-2)day(-1). The total dry deposition flux was found to decrease as the temperature increased. Calculated dry deposition velocities of total PCDD/Fs were 0.45, 0.52, 0.32 and 0.39 cm s(-1) in spring, summer, fall, and winter, respectively, and averaged 0.42 cm s(-1).  相似文献

PCDD/F emissions from heavy duty vehicle diesel engines   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Geueke KJ  Gessner A  Quass U  Bröker G  Hiester E 《Chemosphere》1999,38(12):2791-2806
The currently available information on PCDD/F emissions from diesel vehicles is briefly surveyed. Considerable uncertainty is identified concerning the emissions from heavy duty diesel trucks which have been measured only twice so far. These measurements led to emission factors differing by a factor of 200; similar discrepancy was also revealed by measurements of ambient air in traffic tunnels. New PCDD/F emission measurement results are presented which have been carried out at the exhaust systems of a stationary engine and of a modern heavy duty vehicle engine at transient operation conditions simulated on a test bench. PCDD/F concentrations in the exhaust gases were found to be in the range of control blank samples. Based on the highest concentration observed in the truck engine exhaust (9.7 pg I-TEQ/dry standard m3) a worst case estimate of the annual PCDD/F emission freight from diesel fuel combustion in the European countries of about 30 g I-TEQ/year is calculated. This emission appears to be irrelevant compared to the overall emission rate of more than 6,000 g I-TEQ/year being inventoried recently. Finally the possibilities to link congener/homologue profiles of diesel emission to profiles found in food or human samples are discussed.  相似文献
