In this work, the effects of tool rotation and various intensities of external magnetic field on electrical discharge machining (EDM) performance have been studied. Experimental trials divided into three regimes of low energy regime, middle energy regime and high energy regime. The influences of process parameters were investigated on main outputs of material removal rate (MRR) and surface roughness (SR). In order to correlate the input parameters and output values two mathematical models were developed to predict the MRR and SR according to variations of discharge energy, magnetic field intensity and tool rotational speed. Results indicated that the applying a rotational magnetic field around the machining gap improves the MRR and SR. Combination of rotational magnetic field and rotary electrode increases the machining performance, in comparison of previous conditions. This is due to better flushing debris from machining gap. This work introduces a new method for improving the machining performance, in cost and time points of view. 相似文献

API650-2008 is one of the prominent codes consisting of seismic specifications to design steel storage tanks for earthquakes resistance. In spite of the code's broad application, there are some failure modes such as slide bottom, elephant-foot buckling, sloshing and uplift needing more evaluation. In this paper, 161 existing tanks in an oil refinery complex have been classified into 24 groups and investigated using both API650-2008 rules and numerical FEM models. Failure modes and dynamic characteristics of studied models have been calculated by numerical FEM analysis and compared with code requirements. The results demonstrate that, in some cases, there are some imperfections in the code requirements that require further investigation. 相似文献

In this research tannic acid was used to prepare soy-based adhesives for making plywood and fiber board. The different resin formulations were analyzed by Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and its derivative as a function of temperature (DTG) and Fourier Transform Infra-red (FTIR) spectroscopy. The results showed that the addition of tannic acid to soy-based adhesive decreased soy-based adhesive viscosity and its pH. The DSC analysis showed that the denaturation temperature of soy-based adhesives decrease by adding tannic acid. The TGA and DTG curves showed that the thermal degradation of soy flour starts above 146 °C. The FTIR spectroscopy results also showed that the soy flour amino acids appeared to react well with tannic acid. Furthermore, delamination and shear strength test results showed the good water resistance of plywood bonded with soy-based tannic acid-modified adhesive. The mechanical and physical properties such as MOR, MOE, IB, and water resistance of fiberboard were improved, by adding tannic acid to the soy-based adhesive. 相似文献

Temporal changes in Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera and Trichoptera (EPT) abundance were investigated monthly from January to December
2008 at a tropical forest stream of Tupah River (TR) at Gunung Jerai Forest Reserve, Malaysia. A total of 1,689 adult individuals
belong to 16 families of EPT were collected from TR. EPT populations peaked in May, June and December. Mean EPT abundance
was significantly different among months (Kruskal–Wallis test, P < 0.05). Among the three orders, Trichoptera had the most diverse community with eight families reported, followed by Ephemeroptera
(six families) and Plecoptera (two families). The family Baetidae was the most abundant ephemeropteran. Meanwhile, caddisfly
families Hydropsychidae, Leptoceridae and Lepidostomatidae were abundant at TR. However, plecopterans were mainly represented
by Perlidae. There was significant difference in abundance (t = 4.863, P < 0.05) and diversity (t = 7.857, P < 0.05) of EPT adults between dry and wet seasons. Interestingly, abundance of EPT adults was higher in the dry season compared
to the wet season. Consequently, seasonality impact on abundance of EPT adults at TR was obvious. The adult population of

Dilute sulfuric acid pretreatment was used to improve the biomethane production from wheat plant (WP) via mesophilic anaerobic digestion. The pretreatments were performed at 121°C for different time durations of 10, 30, 60, and 120 min. The maximum methane yield of 302.4 mL/g volatile solids (VS) was obtained after the pretreatment for 120 min, which was 15.5% higher than that of the untreated WP. The highest amounts of lignin removal (15.2%) and xylan degradation (91.5%) were also achieved after this pretreatment. The pretreatment for 60 min enhanced the methane yield by 8.9%, while the pretreatments for 10 and 30 min had no positive effects on the methane yield. All of the pretreatments significantly removed the hemicelluloses. Moreover, the qualitative analysis of the untreated and pretreated WP structure showed significant reduction in the crystallinity index accompanied by the destruction of surface layers of WP structure after pretreatment. 相似文献
