The modern theory of biological evolution: an expanded synthesis

In 1858, two naturalists, Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace, independently proposed natural selection as the basic mechanism responsible for the origin of new phenotypic variants and, ultimately, new species. A large body of evidence for this hypothesis was published in Darwins Origin of Species one year later, the appearance of which provoked other leading scientists like August Weismann to adopt and amplify Darwins perspective. Weismanns neo-Darwinian theory of evolution was further elaborated, most notably in a series of books by Theodosius Dobzhansky, Ernst Mayr, Julian Huxley and others. In this article we first summarize the history of life on Earth and provide recent evidence demonstrating that Darwins dilemma (the apparent missing Precambrian record of life) has been resolved. Next, the historical development and structure of the modern synthesis is described within the context of the following topics: paleobiology and rates of evolution, mass extinctions and species selection, macroevolution and punctuated equilibrium, sexual reproduction and recombination, sexual selection and altruism, endosymbiosis and eukaryotic cell evolution, evolutionary developmental biology, phenotypic plasticity, epigenetic inheritance and molecular evolution, experimental bacterial evolution, and computer simulations (in silico evolution of digital organisms). In addition, we discuss the expansion of the modern synthesis, embracing all branches of scientific disciplines. It is concluded that the basic tenets of the synthetic theory have survived, but in modified form. These sub-theories require continued elaboration, particularly in light of molecular biology, to answer open-ended questions concerning the mechanisms of evolution in all five kingdoms of life.Dedicated to Prof. Dr. Dr. hc mult. 楔横轧模具的铣削加工及其机床设计

根据楔横轧模具孔型及其加工成形的特点,对楔横轧模具大面积大螺距楔形提出了一种简单高效的铣削加工方法,并设计制造了楔横轧轧辊模具孔型加工专用机床——SDM机床。新设计的SDM机床投资小,可以加工直径为φ620 mm～φ1000mm的轧辊模具,加工导程最大可达469 mm,加工周期短,成本低,且大大降低了工人劳动强度。     

有机液体固定顶罐储存的污染物排放与控制

以石油类储存为例，通过其在固定顶罐储存、装卸的呼吸排放和工作排放的计算分析，提出控制有机液体排放的工程技术措施和管理措施。     

我国尖音库蚊种团抗药性现状——兼论半数致死剂量与区分剂量的关系

本文报告我国尖音库蚊种团幼虫对六种杀虫剂近年发生抗性情况,共调查16省市的32个地区。结果多数地区对有机磷酯类的敌百虫发生抗性,对马拉硫磷和杀螟硫磷抗性区较小,程度亦较低。对二二三抗药也较普遍。结果都用LC_(50)和WHO的抗性等级表示。     

Synthesis and structure-activity relationship of diene modified analogs of<Emphasis Type="Italic"> Matsucoccus</Emphasis> sex pheromones

The biological activity of the Matsucoccus spp. sex pheromones and diene modified analogs has been tested in forests of Israel and Portugal in order to explore the structure-activity relationship of the pine bast scale pheromone/kairomone system. The response of the adult predatory bugs, Elatophilus hebraicus and E. crassicornis and of the brown lacewing, Hemerobius stigma is more selective than that of the conspecific Matsucoccus males. The removal of the terminal methyl group from the diene terminus of both pheromones 1 and 2 eliminates all kairomonal activity but retains moderate pheromonal activity. Addition of a methyl group to the diene terminus of pheromones 1 and 2 sustains full pheromonal and kairomonal activities of the Elatophilus spp. but eliminates entirely the kairomonal activity of H. stigma. Subtle designed alterations in the structure of the diene group, typical of all Matsucoccus pheromones, change the mode of the kairomonal activity markedly.

对呼吸计量法应用于校准ASM1作了简明的阐述。在呼吸速率与模型组分关系的基础上,介绍了ASM1中废水与污泥各组分浓度的测定方法,并指出模型组分细化的意义。     

楔横轧轴肩的成形曲面的设计

此文分析在二辊楔横轧中轧制各类轴肩的过程。在假想工件轴端固定的图上确定楔侧面截面轮廓形状,再通过叠加轴向刚性移动量确定各截面实际位置,比较直观简便地设计出轧制轴肩的辊面上的成形曲面。最后归纳了设计步骤。     

厌氧处理原理及其在低浓度有机废水处理中的应用现状

介绍了厌氧处理原理，并对厌氧处理低浓度废水的最新进展进行了较全面的综速，高效厌氧反应器及组合工艺为这一发展提供了可能。高效厌氧反应器中以膨胀颗粒污泥床（ECSB）反应器为首选。其结构及远行特性决定了它在处理低浓度虚水方面具有潜在的优势，但中国EC,SB的应用仅处于研究阶段，尚未有生产规模的EGSB；组合工艺对低浓度废水中污染物去除率极高，出水中COD、NH3-N、TP和SS浓度均可达到较高的排放标准，对生活污水、稀释后的工业有机废水等低浓度有机废水处理具有广阔的前景。

此文分析了产品成形的特点,模具承载的负荷特点,从而在成形工艺上、润滑上、模具结构及选材上采取了相应的措施.用H-4水基高分子润滑剂和3Cr2W8V制作冷挤压模都取得了明显效果.
