Studies on persistence, mobility and the effect of repeated application of permethrin on its half-life were carried out under field conditions. The half-life of permethrin in the top 20 cm of the soil increased from 11.5 to 23.6 days as the application rates increased from 35 to 140 g ha(-1). Induced by heavier rainfall, more residues moved downward in trial 2 than in trial 1. Repeated applications enhanced degradation rates and mobility of permethrin in the soil. The residue level in the 0-5-cm layer was reduced at day 28 after 17 consecutive applications to a level lower than after 5 applications. The half-life of permethrin was reduced from 15.9 days to 11.2 days after 5 and 17 applications, respectively. The residue reached the 15-20 cm layer much earlier (approximately 3 days after treatment) in soil that received 17 applications as compared to those with two applications. 相似文献

An investigation on the effect of epoxidation and maleated natural rubber (MNR) on fatigue and rubber-filler interaction properties
of paper sludge filled natural rubber composites was elucidated. Paper sludge loading was varied from 0 to 40 phr and conventional
vulcanisation system was used while compounding was carried out on a laboratory sized two roll mill. Two different types of
natural rubber, SMR L and ENR 50 having 0 and 50 mole% of epoxidation were used in order to investigate the effect of epoxidation
on the composites. Results indicate that, at a fixed filler loading, ENR 50 vulcanizates exhibit higher fatigue life than
SMR L vulcanizates especially at filler loading below 20 phr which might be associated with better rubber-filler interaction.
In the case of composites with the addition of maleated natural rubber (MNR), a higher fatigue life was observed due to presence
of physical and/or chemical linkages, which increases the interfacial adhesion. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) micrographs

The adsorption equilibrium time and effects of pH and concentration of 14C-labeled paraquat (1,1??-dimethyl-4,4??-bipyridylium dichloride) in two types of Malaysian soil were investigated. The soils used in the study were clay loam and clay soils from rice fields. Equilibrium studies of paraquat in a soil and pesticide solution were conducted. Adsorption equilibrium time was achieved within 2 h for both soil types. The amount of 14C-labeled paraquat adsorbed onto glass surfaces increased with increasing shaking time and remained constant after 10 h. It was found that paraquat adsorbed by the two soils was very similar: 51.73 (clay loam) and 51.59 ?? g g???1 (clay) at 1 ?? g/ml. The adsorption of paraquat onto both types of soil was higher at high pH, and adsorption decreased with decreasing pH. At pH 11, the amounts of 14C-labeled paraquat adsorbed onto the clay loam and clay soil samples were 4.08 and 4.05 ?? g g???1, respectively, whereas at pH 2, the amounts adsorbed were 3.72 and 3.57 ?? g g???1, respectively. This study examines the Granger causality relationships between economic growth, energy consumption and emissions, from 1980 to 2007 in Bahrain, controlling for capital and urban population using Toda and Yamamoto’s approach. It was found that there is unilateral causality which runs from urban population, economic growth, capital and energy consumption to environment. Further, we found strong support for causality running from economic growth to energy consumption, emissions and capital. The existence of these linkages suggests that the government of Bahrain may pursue energy efficiency strategies and carbon emissions reduction policy in the long run without impeding economic growth. Additionally, the long run pursuit of high economic growth given sustained increases in energy efficiency may also reduce CO2 emissions intensity per unit of her GDP. 相似文献

X-linked hydrocephalus, HSAS (hydrocephalus due to stenosis of aqueduct of Sylvius), MASA (mental retardation, aphasia, shuffling gait, and adducted thumbs), and CRASH (corpus callosum hypoplasia, retardation, adducted thumbs, spastic paraplegia, and hydrocephalus) syndromes are allelic disorders. X-linked hydrocephalus and associated phenotypes are due to mutations in the L1CAM gene, which has been identified as a coding neural cell adhesion molecule. We report two cases of L1 spectrum disorders within the same family. The first case was diagnosed by ultrasonographic examination prenatally and the second case was diagnosed postnatally. Both patients and their mothers carry a novel mutation of the L1CAM gene. In this family, nine X-linked hydrocephalus and five female carriers were found in three generations, and molecular genetic analysis was performed to detect the asymptomatic carriers. Metal binding is an important function of humic acids (HAs) in soils, sediments and waters. At pH 2.0, Mn(II) and Co(NH3)6aq3+ bind tightly in one step labeled A to a solid humic acid NHA isolated from a New Hampshire soil. Two consecutive steps are observed for Hg(II) binding. All the binding isotherms fit the Langmuir model in the temperature range 10.0-50.0 degrees C. Stoichiometric site capacities indicate predominant binding by charge-neutralizing HA carboxylate groups for Mn(II) and the second step A of Hg(II) binding. The binding affinity order in step A is Co(NH3)(6)3+>Hg(II)>Mn(II). Metal binding enthalpy and entropy changes fit the linear correlation found previously for binding of other metal cations by solid HAs. Free energy buffering from cooperative enthalpy and entropy changes and lower enthalpies for metal-HA interactions in solution suggest that desolvation of the cations and HA binding sites as well as HA conformational changes to allow for inner-sphere complexation predominate metal binding by hydrated solid HAs. 相似文献
