Laboratory batch experiments were conducted to study arsenic (As) removal from a naturally contaminated soil using phosphoric acid (H3PO4) and potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KHEPO4). Both H3PO4 and KHEPO4 proved to reduce toxicity of the soil in terms of soil As content, attaining more than 20% As removal at a concentration of 200 mmol/L. At the same time, acidification of soil and dissolution of soil components (Ca, Mg, and Si) resulted from using these two extractants, especially H3PO4. The effectiveness of these two extractants could be attributed to the replacement of As by phosphate ions (PO4^3-). The function of H3PO4 as an acid to dissolve soil components had little effects on As removal. KH2PO4 almost removed as much As as H3PO4, but it did not result in serious damage to soils, indicating that it was a more promising extractant. The results of a kinetic study showed that As removal reached equilibrium after incubation for 360 rain, but dissolution of soil components, especially Mg and Ca, was very rapid. Therefore dissolution of soil components would be inevitable if As was further removed. Elovich model best described the kinetic data of As removal among the four models used in the kinetic study. 相似文献

Pteris vittata is known to hyperaccumulate As but the mechanism is poorly understood. We found an increase of As concentration with increasing soil solution As concentrations, but P application had no impact, although plant P concentrations responded to different rates of P supply. As in fronds was dominantly (82–89%) present in the form of AsIII. In roots we detected 45% as AsIII which is higher than reported in previous studies and supports substantial As-reduction to take place in roots. We detected PC2/3GS–AsIII, PC2–GS–AsIII and (PC2)2–AsIII in increasing amounts with application of As. The total amount of PC was in the range reported previously and far too small to assign a significant role in As detoxification to PCs. The close correlation between S and As in fronds and the lack of data on sulphur uptake and metabolism indicates the need for a detailed investigation on sulphur nutritional status and As metabolism in P. vittata. 相似文献

We followed the net accumulation of As, Cu and Zn in the deposit-feeding polychaete Arenicola marina exposed in the laboratory to natural metal-contaminated sediments, one exposure leading to mass mortality between day 10 and 20, and the other not causing lethality over a period of 60 days of exposure. The worms showed lower total accumulated metal concentrations just before mortality occurred (<20 days) at the lethal exposure, than after 30 days of exposure to sediments not causing mortality. Moreover rates of accumulation of As, Cu and Zn were significantly higher in the lethal exposure than in the sublethal exposure. Our results show that it is not possible to link mortality to a critical total body concentration, and we add to a growing body of literature indicating that metal toxicity occurs when organisms cannot cope with overwhelming influx and subsequent accumulation rates. 相似文献

以桑树杆为原料,制备了原始桑树杆生物炭(M-BC)及磁性氧化铁/桑树杆生物炭(Fe-BC)并对其进行表征.通过土壤培养实验,研究了3个温度下炭化制备的Fe-BC和M-BC在不同培养时间对土壤浸出液溶解性有机碳(DOC)和土壤砷(As)形态等的影响.结果表明:①Fe-BC负载的铁氧化物主要为Fe3 O4,且有磁性,主要官能团有C=O双键、O—H键、C—O键和Fe—O键;Fe-BC-400、Fe-BC-500和Fe-BC-600的pHzpc分别为8.92、8.74和9.19,比表面积分别为447.412、482.697和525.708 m2 ·g-1.②土壤浸出液中ρ(DOC)随着M-BC和Fe-BC炭化温度的升高而分别降低11.6~315.6 mg ·L-1和78~365.6 mg ·L-1,土壤浸出液中DOC浓度与土壤电导率(EC)值呈负相关;在培养第35 d,添加Fe-BC-600的土壤浸出液中As浓度比对照组土壤浸出液中的降低了55.96%.土壤浸出液中As浓度与DOC浓度相关性不显著.③添加Fe-BC的土壤有效态As占比均低于对照组的,在培养第35 d时,Fe-BC-600可使土壤有效态As占比降低39.21%.④在培养第35 d时,添加M-BC的土壤残渣态As含量减少了17.76%~49.11%,添加Fe-BC-600的土壤残渣态As占比增加了80%.Fe-BC-600最有利于降低土壤溶液DOC浓度,提高残渣态As含量,从而降低土壤As生物有效性.研究可为磁性氧化铁/生物炭在砷污染土壤修复提供理论依据. 相似文献

利用高铁酸盐的氧化絮凝双重水处理功能,取代氧化铁盐法,对其氧化除砷效果进行了评价.考察了高铁酸盐除砷的适宜pH值范围、氧化时间和絮凝时间,定性和定量分析了盐度、硬度等因素对高铁酸盐除砷效果的影响.结果表明,高铁酸盐与砷浓度比为15∶1,最佳pH为5.5~7.5,适宜的氧化时间为10min,絮凝时间为30min,处理后的水样中砷残留量可达到国家饮用水标准;盐度和硬度不干扰除砷过程.与传统的铁盐法和氧化铁盐法对比,此方法简便,高效,无二次污染,更有利于饮用水的清洁化除砷. 相似文献

The impact of ancient fertilization practices on the biogeochemistry of arable soils on the remote Scottish island of Hirta, St Kilda was investigated. The island was relatively unusual in that the inhabitants exploited seabird colonies for food, enabling high population densities to be sustained on a limited, and naturally poor, soil resource. A few other Scottish islands, the Faeroes and some Icelandic Islands, had similar cultural dependence on seabirds. Fertilization with human and animal waste streams (mainly peat ash and bird carcases) on Hirta over millennia has led to over-deepened, nutrient-rich soils (plaggen). This project set out to examine if this high rate of fertilization had adversely impacted the soil, and if so, to determine which waste streams were responsible. Arable soils were considerably elevated in Pb and Zn compared to non-arable soils. Using Pb isotope signatures and analysis of the waste streams, it was determined that this pollution came from peat and turf ash (Pb and Zn) and from bird carcases (Zn). This was also confirmed by 13C and 15N analysis of the profiles which showed that soil organic matter was highly enriched in marine-derived C and N compared to non-arable soils. The pollution of such a remote island may be typical of other ‘bird culture’ islands, and peat ash contamination of marginal arable soils at high latitudes may be widespread in terms of geographical area, but less intense at specific locations due to lower population densities than on Hirta. 相似文献
