Acute toxicity of the venom of Conus zeylanicus was studied to evaluate its risk and toxic factors in view of human safety The lethality of the crude venom (LD50 -60 mg/kg via i.p.) in mice was associated with increased heart rate and strong muscular hind limb paralysis, skeletal muscle paralysis, dyspnea, loss of spontaneous activity followed by respiratory failure. The effect on vital tissues revealed liver tissues were disrupted with hemorrhagic necrosis and the lung showed the pathogenic changes of diffused inflammation of the parenchyma and obliteration of the alveolar space. In brain, edema was observed throughout the parenchyma and the kidney shows the tubules with cloudyswelling of the lining cells and the parenchyma inflammation and few inflammatory cells infiltration. 相似文献

We report the adsorption isotherm of acid dye on the surface of chitin, a unique solid adsorbent. Adsorption process offers
an attractive benefit for a dyeing house treatment. Influences of essential kinetic parameters such as adsorbent particle
size, reaction temperature governing the dye adsorption have been investigated. Adsorptions isotherms of dye on chitin were
developed and the equilibrium data fitted well to the Langmuir, Freundlich and Redlich Peterson isotherm model. At optimum
conditions maximum dye adsorption capacity of chitin estimated with the Langmuir 44.0, 85.0, 104.3 mg/g and 85.0, 114.10,
113.62 mg/g adsorbent. The results showed that chelating polymer of chitin could be considered as potential adsorbents for

Microbiological degradation of phenol using mixed liquors of Pseudomonas putida and activated sludge 总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6
This work investigated the biodegradation potential of phenol using mixed liquors of Pseudomonas putida (ATCC 31800) and activated sludge. Experiments were made as a function of solution pH (6-10), temperature (30-36 degrees C), nitrogen source (NH4)2SO4 (0.5-0.8 g/l), and carbon source glucose (0.5-0.8 g/l). Response surface methodology by the Box-Behnken model was used to examine the role of four process factors on phenol degradation. It was shown that a second-order polynomial regression model could properly interpret the experimental data with an R2-value of 0.9997 and an F-value of 3605.45, based on which the maximum degradation of phenol was estimated up to 80.1% within the range examined. Interactions between process parameters and each significance effect on phenol degradation were also discussed. 相似文献
