The Implication from Cote d'Ivoire's Toxic Waste Pollution Crisis to Chinese Hazardous Waste import Management

Hundreds of tons of toxic waste from a Netherlands firm dumped by a Cote d'Ivoire's local company in its commercial capital of Abidjan's inhabited public areas,the illegal dumping of wastes has killed seven people,made more than 36,000 people ill and forced the country's government to resign.As global trade flows expand and tough domestic controls raise the costs of hazardous wastes disposal in developed countries,the opportunities and incentives for the illegal transboundary movement of hazardous wastes to developing countries will continue to grow.The Basel Convention is the most important global environmental legal instrument to control the international trade in hazardous wastes.The article analyzed the international environmental laws concerns Cote d'Ivoire's toxic waste pollution crisis and discussed the Implication from Cote d'Ivoire's Toxic Waste Pollution Crisis to Chinese Hazardous Waste import Management.
