| Abstract: | The Mississippi River flood of 1993 and its main causes,current patterns and problems existed in floodplain management,limitation of Principles and Guidelines for Water and Related Land Resources are introduced and new directions in floodplain management are outlined based on the report of the Interagency Floodplain Management Review Committee of the United States in this paper to provide referential materials for floodplain planning and management in China. |
