A pentachlorophenol (PCP) mineralizing bacterium was isolated from the secondary sludge of pulp and paper mill and identified as Pseudomonas stutzeri strain CL7. This isolate used PCP as its sole source of carbon and energy and was capable of degrading this compound as indicated by stoichiometric release of chloride and biomass formation. P. stutzeri (CL7) was able to mineralize a high concentration of PCP (600 mg/L) than any previously reported Pseudomonad with PCP as sole carbon source. As the concentration of PCP increased from 50 to 600 mg/L, the reduction in the cell growth was observed and the PCP degradation was more than 90% in all studied concentrations. This isolate was able to remove 66.8% of PCP from the secondary sludge of pulp and paper mill when supplemented with 100 mg/L of PCP and grown for two weeks. This study showed that the removal e ciency of PCP by CL7 was found to be very e ective and can be used in PCP remediation of pulp paper mill waste in the environment.  相似文献

Paper pulp manufacturing is the main non-food industrial utilization of plant biomass. Non-wood and agricultural residues are potential raw materials in the production of specialty papers. This chapter aims to quantify the environmental impacts associated with non-wood high quality paper pulp manufacture via soda-anthraquinone (AQ) cooking process by means of the application of LCA methodology in a cradle-to-gate analysis. Hemp (Cannabis sativa) and Flax (Linum usitatissimum) were evaluated as raw materials for the production of high quality non-porous pulp. A specialty paper pulp mill was analysed in detail and process chain was divided in six subsystems: agricultural activities, chemicals production, electricity production, transport, pulp production and waste treatment. Inventory data came from interviews and surveys (on-site measurements). When necessary, the data were completed with bibliographic resources.Abiotic resources depletion (AD), global warming (GW), ozone layer depletion (OLD), human toxicity (HT), ecotoxicity, photochemical oxidant formation (POF), acidification (A) and eutrophication (E) were the impact categories analysed in this study. According to the results, the environmental impact is mainly caused by the production of chemicals, electricity and fibres (agricultural activities) due to greenhouse gases emissions, phosphorous and nitrogen compounds emissions. The activities inside the pulp mill present minor contribution to almost all impact categories, excluding GW (15%) and E (6%) as well as OLD (25%). This study provides useful information for non-wood based industries related not only to pulp manufacture but also to panels or biorefineries with the aim of increasing their sustainability.  相似文献

This work is concerned with the dynamic modelling of the papermaking section of an integrated newsprint mill, and the subsequent application of two direct search methods in a proof-of-concept optimization study of broke recirculation strategies. The effect of the current broke recirculation policy on the mixed pulp properties at the paper machine headboxes was quantified using a dynamic simulation generating data for an objective function which reflected the rate of change in measurable (flow, consistency and temperature) and immeasurable (total dissolved solids and fibre length distribution) parameters. Genetic Algorithm and the Nelder–Mead simplex methods were then linked dynamically to the simulation and used to find improved ways of recirculating broke pulp. Specifically, the profile of the changes to the broke ratio was modelled using a quadratic function and a second-order transfer function, and the coefficients of these functions were optimized. The optimized broke recirculation resulted in a significant reduction in the value of the objective function, thus, suggesting that the fluctuations in the properties of the mixed pulp stream could be dampened and paper machine headbox stability improved. It is expected that this process enhancement strategy would contribute to an increase in production yield (via a reduction in the occurrence of paper machine breaks), and thus an overall reduction in the waste of materials and energy.  相似文献

Pulp industry plays an important role in the structure of European economy and society. Paper pulp manufacture, the industrial utilization of plant biomass, is increasing every year. In Spain, Eucalyptus is the dominant raw material and the Kraft cooking and total chlorine free (TCF) bleaching processes lead the procedures of Eucalyptus paper pulp production. This paper aims to identify and quantify the environmental impacts associated to Eucalyptus TCF pulp manufacture by using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) as an analytical tool. The system has been defined using a cradle-to-gate perspective, that is to say from forest activities to the exit gate of the pulp mill. The production of chemicals consumed in the cooking and bleaching stages as well as the on-site energy production system is the elements that contribute the most to all impact categories analyzed (more than 50% of total contributions), except for the eutrophication potential where forest activities and waste treatment play an important roles (about 52% of total). Specific actions associated to the recovery boiler, lime kiln and digestion stage could considerably reduce the environmental impact and improve the environmental performance of the Spanish paper pulp industry.  相似文献

国内以草浆为原料制浆造纸的各类企业占造纸企业总数的65%以上。分析以某草浆为主的造纸企业生产过程中产生污染物的种类及特点;并根据其不同特征,有针对性地提出了节约生产用水、循环利用处理水、提高黑液提取率及碱回收车间废水零排放的方法;同时探讨了造纸企业排放的废渣、废气及污泥等资源综合利用措施。该造纸企业通过几年来的努力,在节水减污方面取得了一定的实效。为同行业处理污染物,综合和循环利用资源提供了参考。  相似文献

根据浆纸生产的工艺特点和生产实际,推导出主流的制浆技术、造纸技术、浆纸废渣替代燃煤、沼气替代燃煤的CO2排放因子分别为0.229,1.304,1.5,3.69t/t.以此为基础并参考相关的资料,分析了纸机的不同部位对CO2排放因子的影响,并模拟了不同生产规模时CO2排放总量.结果表明:浆纸企业CO2排放总量中,造纸系统和废物处理系统占据主导地位分别为54.23%和33.86%,造纸系统和制浆系统中耗热工段对CO2总量的贡献比例分别为75.6%和90.22%,废物处理系统中,浆纸废渣任意弃置和沼气任意排放CO2总量的贡献比例分别为46.06%和47.59%.  相似文献

通过对造纸厂废水中2,3,7,8-PCDD/Fs的检测,分析了其在造纸厂废水中的浓度水平与特征,并将不同剂量电子束辐照前后废水中2,3,7,8-PCDD/Fs浓度水平进行对比,初步探讨了电子束辐照造纸废水中2,3,7,8-PCDD/Fs的可行性,降解机制以及降解率.结果表明,该造纸厂未经处理过的原水中2,3,7,8-PCDD/Fs浓度为239 pg·L-1,毒性当量浓度为41.0pg·L-1.通过用30 kGy和60 kGy剂量的电子束辐照处理后,废水中2,3,7,8-PCDD/Fs的浓度均有不同程度地降低,其降解率分别为5.27%和23.6%.  相似文献

Pulping production process produces a large amount of wastewater and pollutant emitted ,which has become one of the main pollution sources in pulp and paper industry.To solve this problem,it is necessary to implement cleaner production by using modeling and optimization technology.This paper studies the modeling and multi-objective genetic algorithms for continuous digester process.First,model is established, in which environmental pollution and saving energy factors are considered.Then hybrid genetic algorithm based on Pareto stratum-niche count is designed for finding near-Pareto or Pareto optimal solutions in the problem and a new genetic evaluation and selection mechanism is proposed.Finally using the real data from a pulp mill shows the results of computer simulation.Through comparing with the practical curve of digester, this method can reduce the pollutant effectively and increase the profit while keeping the pulp quality unchanged.  相似文献

Corporate image, European Emission Trading System and Environmental Regulations, encourage pulp industry to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Kraft pulp mills produce CO2 mainly in combustion processes. The largest sources are the recovery boiler, the biomass boiler, and the lime kiln. Due to utilizing mostly biomass-based fuels, the CO2 is largely biogenic. Capture and storage of CO2 (CCS) could offer pulp and paper industry the possibility to act as site for negative CO2 emissions. In addition, captured biogenic CO2 can be used as a raw material for bioproducts. Possibilities for CO2 utilization include tall oil manufacturing, lignin extraction, and production of precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC), depending on local conditions and mill-specific details. In this study, total biomass-based CO2 capture and storage potential (BECCS) and potential to implement capture and utilization of biomass-based CO2 (BECCU) in kraft pulp mills were estimated by analyzing the impacts of the processes on the operation of two modern reference mills, a Nordic softwood kraft pulp mill with integrated paper production and a Southern eucalyptus kraft pulp mill. CO2 capture is energy-intensive, and thus the effects on the energy balances of the mills were estimated. When papermaking is integrated in the mill operations, energy adequacy can be a limiting factor for carbon capture implementation. Global carbon capture potential was estimated based on pulp production data. Kraft pulp mills have notable CO2 capture potential, while the on-site utilization potential using currently available technologies is lower. The future of these processes depends on technology development, desire to reuse CO2, and prospective changes in legislation.

《废弃电器电子产品处理基金征收使用管理办法》已于2012年起正式实施,办法已明确要求环境保护主管部门应当建立健全基金补贴审核制度,通过不同的审核方式,加强废弃电器电子产品拆解处理的环保核查和数量审核,防止补贴资金骗补行为的发生。因此,基金补贴及审核制度的建立使得各级环保部门面临着基金审核的新任务。本文根据上海市的实践,提出引入第三方环境审计制度,将环境管理的专业要求与审计方法进行优势互补,不仅可以提升废弃电器电子产品基金审核的水平,而且可以实现基金规范使用的管理目标。  相似文献

The objective of this paper was to provide a preliminary analysis of energy utilization from industrial waste in Taiwan, a densely populated island country with high dependence on imported energy. The discussion thus focused on the status of industrial waste generation and its management since the year 2002. This paper also presented the updated information about the new/revised regulations concerning the governmental regulations and policies for promoting industrial waste as energy source as well as controlling the emissions of hazardous air pollutants from industrial waste-to-energy facilities. It showed that the main types of combustible waste in the industrial sector of Taiwan include pulp sludge, scrap wood, sugarcane bagasse, textile sludge and scrap plastics, which were being reused as auxiliary fuel in the utilities (e.g., boiler and incinerator). Based on their reported quantities, the energy potential and the environmental benefit of mitigating CO2 emissions were also analyzed in the study.  相似文献

Growing demand for paper is putting pressure on the World's forests, and although paper made from agricultural residues could meet global demand five times over, today less than 10% is made using these resources. The primary reason for this is the absence of cost effective, small-scale (∼10,000 tonnes per annum), environmentally sound pulping technology. The BioRegional MiniMill was developed in response to this problem. The MiniMill is a modular, regional scale, sustainable pulping process designed for straw and other non-wood feedstocks. The MiniMill innovates in two key areas: (i) preparation, feeding and pulping of straw using a twin screw extruder to reduce energy use, produce pulp in a shorter time and improve pulp quality, and (ii) the inclusion of a small-scale black liquor chemical and energy recovery system, based upon novel fluidised bed technology. The MiniMill is projected to be cost competitive at less than one-tenth the size of the smallest conventional wood-based pulping mill. As with conventional pulp mills, the MiniMill recovers enough renewable energy from the effluent to power the mill and qualifies for carbon emissions credits in accredited countries. In this work we report on some of the key research and development activities, at laboratory, pilot and semi-industrial scale, that have underpinned the design and development of the MiniMill. The ultimate goal of the project is to make available a technically and economically viable process for small-scale cellulose pulp production, that will facilitate the uptake of alternative uses of wheat straw, hemp or flax into the market place.  相似文献

造纸业是与国民经济和社会发展关系密切并具有可持续发展特点的重要基础原材料产业.为了解中国造纸业资源消耗及环境污染变化趋势,基于经济系统造纸业物质流分析(EW-MFA)方法原理,建立了中国造纸业物质代谢分析模型,定量分析2005~2017年中国造纸业物质输入/输出、代谢强度和循环利用率等演化特征.结果表明,2005~2017年中国造纸业的物质输入与输出总体呈下降趋势,水的贡献占比高达90%以上.近年来,随着造纸业原料结构的不断优化,非木材制浆的比例从42%下降至13%,主要被废纸制浆为主,木材制浆为辅的方式所取代,单位纸产品的资源消耗量得以大幅降低.2017年吨纸及纸板直接物质输入为26 t,较2005年的79 t下降了67%,其中新鲜水消耗量下降了约69%.水资源循环利用率大幅上升,2017年水循环率高达77%.目前,纸及纸板的生产越来越依赖于国内废纸和进口木材的投入,两者占比分别由2005年的21%和9%上升至2017年的60%和31%.然而,国内废纸回收率仍处于较低水平,需通过加强回收体系建设、提高居民回收意识等措施以缓解限制废纸进口造成的原料供应紧缺.  相似文献
