This work addresses the plasma treatment of two solid waste streams and production of fuel gases from the process. In this study, carpet waste and simulated solid wastes generated by a United States Air Force Basic Expeditionary Airfield Resources Base deployment were used. Waste was treated in a furnace fitted with a 100kW plasma arc torch. The off gas was analyzed to determine its composition. The product gas was composed primarily of carbon monoxide and hydrogen, with small amounts of methane, benzene and toluene also detected. These experiments demonstrate the feasibility of producing fuel gases by plasma treatment of the solid waste streams. While the thermal energy value of the fuel gas produced in these experiments was less than the energy input, a higher waste-to-fuel gas conversion efficiency is expected in full-scale application. 相似文献

采用某污水厂的出水,利用脉冲电弧液相放电等离子体技术,研究了放电脉冲次数、放电电压、放电极间距对大肠杆菌灭杀的影响。结果表明:随着放电脉冲次数的增加,灭菌率升高。当放电脉冲次数为400时,灭菌率高达99.1%。随着放电电压的升高,大肠杆菌的去除率升高,其中电压为3 kV最高,灭菌率为96.7%。在相同的电压下,放电极间距越小,灭菌效率越高,放电间距0.5 mm时最佳。利用扫描电镜观察等离子体处理前后大肠杆菌细胞的形貌变化,并根据灭菌的结果对等离子体的灭菌机理进行了分析,发现了灭菌消毒与等离子体中所含的活性粒子成分有密切的关系。 相似文献

Double-electrode submerged arc welding (DE-SAW) is an innovative process to achieve the same metal deposition rate at reduced heat input. To maximally take advantage of this new capability, the heat input needed to produce acceptable welds needs to be reduced. A joint gap is successfully introduced to reduce the required heat input but it introduces variations affecting currents/heat input. To minimize the resultant variations in currents and resultant welds, the process is modeled and a multivariable predictive control algorithm is developed to control the currents at desired levels. PCDD/Fs have been become a serious issue because of their toxicological effects and associated adverse health implications.In this study,the gliding arc plasma was tested for treatment of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins(PCDDs)and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs),which was synthesized from pentachiorophenol in atmospheric condition at 35℃with or without the catalysis of CuCl_2. From the experiment,we found that the destruction efficiency of PCDD/F homologues after gliding was discharge ranged from 25% to 79%.This result demonstrates that gliding arc plasma is an effective technology to decompose PCDDs/Fs in flue gas.A plausible degradation mechanism for PCDD/Fs by gliding arc was discussed.Finally,a multistage reactor structure of gliding arc was proposed to upgrade removal efficiency for PCDD/Fs. 相似文献
