In this paper, we present the effect of inorganic cations such as Na+, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+ on the salting-out phenomenon of metalaxyl from pure water to aqueous salt solutions. Moreover the 1-octanol/water partition coefficient in pure water is presented. To accomplish this, aqueous solubility of metalaxyl was determined in pure water, in different salt solution (NaCl, KCl, CaCl2 and MgCl2), and at different concentration level ranging from 0.01 to 1.5 M. The 1-octanol/water partition coefficient was determined using the static shake-flask method. Solubility was determined using dynamic saturation method for pure water in the range of 298.15-325.15 K and at 298.15 K for different salt solutions. The solubility value in pure water for studied interval was found constant (= 3.118 × 10−2 mol kg−1).Solubility values were used to calculate the standard molar Gibbs free energy of dissolution (ΔsolG°) and transfer (ΔtrG°) at 298.15 K. The values of ΔtrG° from pure to all studied aqueous salt solutions did not exceed 2 kJ mol−1, the value of ΔsolG° of dissolution is 18.5 ±0.72 kJ mol−1. The 1-octanol/water partition coefficient in pure water log Ko/w is equal to 1.69. The obtained results confirm the classification of the neutral metalaxyl as a slightly hydrophobic molecule.  相似文献

The interaction of the phototoxic alkaloid coralyne with bovine and human serum albumins (BSA, HSA) was investigated. Absorbance and fluorescence quenching experiments revealed the formation of strong complexes. Based on the binding parameters calculated from Stern-Volmer quenching method, coralyne has higher affinity to BSA (∼105 M−1) compared to HSA (∼104 M−1). Forster resonance energy transfer studies showed that the specific binding distances between Trp (donor) of the proteins and coralyne (acceptor) were 2.95 and 3.10 nm, respectively. The bindings were favored by negative enthalpy and a stronger favorable entropy contribution. The heat capacity values for binding to BSA and HSA were similar, indicating the involvement of similar molecular forces in the complexation. Competitive binding experiments using site markers demonstrated that coralyne binds to site I (subdomain IIA) of both proteins. The secondary structure of the proteins was altered, suggesting a small but definitive partial unfolding on complexation.  相似文献

Clinical diagnostic laboratories are producing next-generation sequencing-based test results that are becoming increasingly incorporated into patient care. Whole genome and exome sequencing on fetal material derived from amniocytes, chorionic villi, or products of conception is starting to be offered clinically in specialized centers, but it has not yet become routine practice. The technical, interpretation, and ethical challenges are greatest in the area of prenatal medicine because the fetus has a limited health history, and the physical examination is only indirectly available via prenatal sonography. Here, we provide an overview of these challenges and highlight the clinical utility, reporting, and counseling issues associated with prenatal DNA sequencing. The aim of this paper was to study the effects of reinforcing low density polyethylene (LDPE) by using bio-fillers (Doum cellulose or Shrimp chitin) on the mechanical properties. Both, Doum cellulose extracted frsom Doum leaves and Shrimp chitin extracted from shrimp co-products were compounded with LPDE without and with compatibilizer. The biocomposites were prepared by melt blending in a twin-screw extruder. Torsion and flexural tests were performed to investigate the impact of each reinforcement on the biocomposite mechanical properties. The SEM was carried out to study the filler/polymer interface adhesion. The present study has demonstrated that Doum fibers and shrimp chitin succeed in improving the mechanical properties of LPDE bio-composites. The results also showed that the use of maleic anhydride-grafted polyethylene as a compatibilizer improves filler adhesion/matrix and mechanical properties. This study exhibits that polyethylene composites based on Doum fibers or shrimp chitin can be used to replace the polyethylene materials in several fields like packaging and automotive industries.  相似文献

In this study, nano-sized cellulose modified with lactic acid (MW-Ce-LA) was prepared with the assistant of microwave then used for the adsorption of Cu2+ from real samples. This modified cellulose was characterized by means of FTIR, TEM, XRD, and elemental analysis. ICP-OES was used for determination of Cu2+. The effect of pH, adsorption times, temperature, sorbent dose, and initial adsorbate concentration were studied to detect the ideal adsorption condition. Langmuir model proved to be the best to fit the adsorption isotherm experiments with maximum adsorption capacity of 90.3 mg g?1 Cu2+. Calculated thermodynamic parameters (ΔG° and ΔH°) for adsorption of Cu2+ on MW-Ce-LA suggested exothermic and nonspontaneous character of the adsorption process. The reusability tests indicated regeneration of the prepared adsorbent simply using 1 mol L?1 of HCl. The examined method was used effectively to preconcentrate Cu2+ from water, blood, and food samples.

Vertical profiles of particle mass concentration in the urban canopy above the city of Lyon have been obtained from Lidar measurements of atmospheric backscattering, over a period of three days. The concentrations measured at 50 m above the ground have been compared with the mass concentration of PM10 measured by a ground-based sampler located near the Lidar site. At certain times during the measurement campaign, the Lidar concentration measurements at 50 m agree reasonably well with the concentrations at ground level but at other times the differences between the two sets of measurements are so great that they cannot be explained by possible uncertainties in the data processing. Even when the Lidar and ground-based measurements coincide, there are significant differences between the two signals. To explain these differences we have computed the trajectories of the air parcels that pass over the Lidar, using a numerical model for the wind field that takes into account surface features such as relief and changes in roughness. This analysis showed that the differences can be explained by the meteorological conditions (wind speed and direction, vertical profiles of temperature) and the positions of the different sources of particulate matter relative to the measurement site. The combination of Lidar, ground-based sampler and air mass trajectory calculations is shown to be a powerful tool for discriminating between different sources of pollution, which could be useful in enforcing an urban air quality policy.  相似文献

Abstract

Phosphorylation is an indispensable process for energy and signal transduction in biological systems. AlCl3 at 10 nM to 10 uM range activated in‐vitro [γ‐32P)ATP phosphorylation of the brain (tau) T protein in both normal human or E.coli expressed T forms; in the presence of the kinases P34, PKP, and PKC. However, higher concentrations of ALCl3 inhibited the T phosphorylation with P34, PKP, and PKC to a maximum at 1 mM level. AlCl3 at 100 uM to 500 uM range induced non‐enzymatic phosphorylation of T with γ‐ATP, γ‐GTP, and α‐GTP. AlCl3 activated histone phosphorylation by P34 in a similar pattern. The hyperphosphorylation of T by Al3+ was accompanied by molecular shift and mobility retardation in SDS‐PAGE. This may demonstrate the mechanism of the longterm neurological effect of Al3+ in human brain leading to the formation of the neurofibrillary tangles related to Alzeheimer's disease.  相似文献

Comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) was applied to samples taken from various sites of placentas originating from complicated pregnancies: 24 with intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), one with multiple fetal malformation, one with toxemia, one with hydrocephalus and two with undetectable maternal serum alpha-fetoprotein (MSAFP). One of the most common aberrations in the IUGR cases was the addition of a whole or part of the X chromosome. Other aberrations such as additional Y chromosome or of 13(q22) or loss of chromosome 17 also appeared in different cases. In one IUGR case trisomy 8 (in one site) and 47,XXY (in all sites) were detected. In the two cases with undetectable MSAFP monosomy 16 was found. Some of the results were also confirmed by the FISH technique. In all the control cases (six normal and five with aneuploidy) CGH concurred with the known karyotype. Our results demonstrate the usefulness of the CGH technique in the genetic evaluation of fresh and paraffin embedded placentas in problematic pregnancies even when morphology is normal.
